Armagarden 2022

Lawns are a pain. They take a lot of water, fertilizer and pesticides and you can't even eat them. In a high desert climate like Utah, they are kind of the stupidest thing you can plant.

Which is why we didn't put in a single blade of grass at our new house.

But admittedly, a well kept lawn does look good and feels good to walk or lay on.

Our two youngest convinced me that maybe it isn't the worst thing in the world to have a small patch of lawn.

One terrace was 15' x 40'. It would make a nice place for a bit of grass. A place to practice tumbling, set up a tent for an overnight backyard campout, or just relax on a blanket.

So after harvesting the squash, potatoes and corn that grew here, I dug some trenches for sprinklers.

While I was at it, I dug an even deeper trench for an electrical conduit. Because why not?
